June 12, 2017 - Life University Women's Volleyball head coach Steve Wilcosky has been awarded the 2016-17 Mid-South Conference Female Coaching for Significance Award presented by Forcht Bank, the conference announced on Wednesday.

"I am deeply honored and deeply humbled to receive this award," said Wilcosky. "I definitely didn't expect this. This serves as a great reminder of the importance of what we do in trying to make a difference in the lives of our student-athletes. I feel truly blessed to be a part of such a great athletic department and to be able to coach such great student-athletes."

In just two years in existence as a program, Wilcosky led the Running Eagles to a 20-win season this past year. Additionally, he coached his squad to the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinals before falling to the eventual tournament champion.  "Steve has made a significant impact on our very young program," Director of Athletics Jayme Pendergast said. "He is one of those individuals that strive to be better and makes others better every day. Steve is a coach that puts as much thought and effort into leading his student-athletes off the court as he does leading them on the court. He is very deserving of this honor."

All of us at NAVC want to congratulate Steve for his accomplishments at Life U and his receipt of this award.  Steve has been at NAVC for three years and has made such a positive impact within our program through coaching NAVC teams, NAVC Youth Skills Clinics, NAVC Summer Camps and VolleyU.
