FAQ and INFORMATION MEETINGS

Join us for our NAVC Club Season Information Meetings, we will host four sessions, see below for dates, times, locations.

We're always asked whether players/families need to attend the Informational Meetings, and our answer is this:

1) For families/players who have never played for our club, it is an absolute necessity.  Which club to try out for is an important decision for any junior player, and--short of playing for the club in a previous year--there is no better way to understand the practices, policies and philosophy of our organization.

2)  If you're a returning family/player and haven't been to an info session, it's a good idea.

3)  If you've played for an NAVC club before and hope to play for us again, you can use your own judgment.  We will discuss uniform changes, coaching changes, practice locations and practice format.

USA VOLLEYBALL AGE CHART

Use the chart below to determine for the 2017-18 season which age group you will need to register your daughter.  To determine the correct age division, please find the Month of Birth in the left column and then the year of birth in the same row. These dates are the first day, based on the SRVA rules, a player can be required to make a commitment to a particular Club.  We encourage players who are interested in doing so to compare NAVC to other clubs prior to that time, and then return for the Commitment Night.  On the Commitment Nights, NAVC will be announcing all members of its 10-18 year old teams.  If a player does not attend the night of October 24th or November 8th   (and hasn’t made prior arrangements with her coach), the player’s spot will be allocated to another individual.

SRVA Policy:
"It shall not be considered a violation of the tryout policy for a club, following the beginning of the tryout period and prior to commitment day, to provide a player/parent with a statement that the Club is offering the player a spot on a designated team or the player is an alternate for a spot on a designated team.  The club may not withdraw the offer prior to the established commitment day. (The player can reject the offer, but is not required to respond to the offer prior to the commitment day)."

“After all the cheers have died down and the stadium is empty, after the headlines have been written, and after you are back in the quiet of your room and the championship ring has been placed on the dresser and after all the pomp and fanfare have faded, the enduring thing that is left is the dedication to doing with our lives the very best we can to make the world a better place in which to live.”
